What Happens After You Order Custom Motorcycle Gear from Chic Riot?

If you’ve never ordered custom-fit motorcycle gear before, you might be wondering what happens after you click that checkout button. Buying motorcycle gear online is usually pretty straightforward. You choose a size, place your order, and wait for a package to arrive. But at Chic Riot, our women’s motorcycle gear is made differently. We make our gear to order and build the fit around the person who is actually going to wear it. That means your order doesn’t simply go from a website to a shipping label. There are a few more steps in between, and each one is important to getting the right fit.

Here’s what that process looks like:

It Starts with Your Order

The first step is the easiest. Choose the motorcycle jacket, pants, or other gear you want and check out through our website like you normally would. Once your order is placed, that’s when the custom-fit process begins.

Next Comes Your Choozr Measurement Link

After placing your order, you’ll receive an email with a link to Choozr, our digital measurement system.

We know the word “measurements” can sometimes make people think about pulling out a tape measure and trying to figure out where everything is supposed to go. Thankfully, you don’t need one.

Choozr uses your phone or another device to guide you through a quick measurement process. You simply follow the instructions on your screen, and the system collects the measurements we need to begin creating your custom-fit motorcycle gear.

Your Measurements Come Directly to Us

Once you finish the Choozr process, your measurements are securely submitted to our team.

This is an important difference between custom motorcycle gear and simply ordering an off-the-rack size.

Instead of telling us that you are a small, medium, large, or a particular numerical size, we get measurements that help us understand your individual proportions.

Because women’s bodies don’t all fit neatly into a size chart, this is a big part of why we created our process the way we did.

Then We Talk

Measurements are important, but they aren't the whole story.

Once we receive your measurements, we review them and schedule a virtual video consultation with you. This gives us a chance to talk about how you want your gear to fit, any concerns you may have, and any special details we should know before production begins.

Maybe you prefer a little more room through the shoulders. Maybe you’ve always had trouble finding motorcycle pants that fit your waist and legs at the same time. Maybe you simply want to talk through what a good riding fit should feel like.

This conversation gives us the opportunity to listen.

That personal part of the process is something you just don't get when you're pulling a motorcycle jacket off a retail shelf.

Then We Start Making Your Gear

Once your measurements and fit preferences are confirmed, production begins.

This is where your order moves from something you purchased online to something we actually make for you.

Chic Riot started as a small, handmade, made-to-order women’s motorcycle gear company, and that idea of creating gear for the individual rider is still at the heart of what we do.

We aren't trying to make one jacket that fits everyone.

We're trying to make your jacket fit you.

Why Does It Take Up to Three Weeks?

The trade-off for custom-fit, made-to-order motorcycle gear is that it takes a little more time.

Your gear isn't sitting in a warehouse waiting to be picked, packed, and shipped. There is a production process that happens after you place your order, and we want to give ourselves the time needed to do it properly.

We know that can feel like a long time in a world where we're used to ordering something online and having it arrive in a couple of days. But we think there is still something valuable about taking the time to make something properly, especially when that something is motorcycle gear you're going to spend hours wearing on the road.

The biggest difference between ordering from Chic Riot and buying traditional women’s motorcycle gear is that we don't want the process to end with you finding the closest size on a chart. We want to know how the gear needs to fit you.

From the Choozr measurements to the video consultation to the final production, there are several points in the process where we get to make sure, we're creating something that works for the person who ordered it.

That's really the reason we built Chic Riot this way. Your gear should start with you, not a size chart.
