Always remember that the first and most important thing to think about when riding a motorcycle is safety. After that comes comfort, which can affect safety, and then you can think about having fun and looking hot while you’re doing it. OK, let’s go online or into the store and pick out a jacket. 1.      Material: The outside of your jacket is what will be between you and the road should you be involved in an accident or if you lay your bike down for any other reason. So, the tougher the outside material the better. Many riders prefer leather, and that is an excellent choice, but there are several lightweight synthetic and pseudo-leather fabrics available that are lighter and offer more comfort while being equally as tough as leather.

2.      Adequate Ventilation: Riding day could start out cool and damp and that tough, warm, weather proof jacket seems like it was such a good idea. But be mindful that the day could end up warm and humid, so a jacket with proper ventilation is a must.

3.      Color Absolutely Does Matter: Go for a jacket that will give you high visibility, as you want to make sure other motorists on the road can easily see you. Think in terms of bright, even fluorescent, colors. And colors can be super cute, that’s also part of the riding experience, right?
